I understand. Nevertheless, it is a great secondary raison d'être of
Caldavzap. Two ways of approaching this come to mind.
The first is to create a read-only CalDAV account with empty calendar
that will never be filled with any events. For that account in
Caldavzap, subscribe to several ICS calendars.
If you use DAViCal you can create a principal without calendars (if these are created
automatically you can delete them), and then subscribe to other principals'
calendar(s) (if the permission is set to read only for these the interface will not allow
any data manipulation). Then you need to import your ICS file to the subscribed calendars
and it will work (there is also a DAV binding funcionality which maybe works for remote
calendars - but I never tried it). This setup will work with globalAccountSettings and
will not require login ...
The second is to implement support for an account that has no username
and no password and immediately bypasses logging. Users will see the
subscribed calenders but none of the CalDAV functionality will be used.
I am willing to test out the first approach and hope that it can be
added to the documentation when it works successfully. Is that OK?
I have no problem with adding anything useful into documentation (even if the approach I
mentioned above with DAViCal will work and it not requires any documentation update).
For the second approach, I need someone familiar with Caldavzap to help
implement it. Is there anyone interested in this?
I don't think that it worth the effort, and also I'm still busy with other
projects so I cannot guarantee any help :-/

How can I use Caldavzap with only subscribed (read-only) calendars with
no connection to a CalDAV url?
Is this a new feature or can I get this to work by using the
configuration in a certain way?
