Hi. I am using CardDavMATE for some time now (don't remember from which version) and I don't remember having any issues with contact photo size (contacts are synced with my Nexus 5). Lately I have installed CardDavMATE 0.12.0-rc3 and my contacts photos are re-sized to 274x246px which does not look good on Nexus 5. I have tried to edit one contact and replace photo with bigger size but it was re-sized after saving. Is there any way to disable resizing of contacts photos or change its configuration?? Vasyl

I'm trying to streamline login handling, so I'm trying to get caldavzap/auth/index.php working. I had a bear of a time figuring out that my server was not trusting itself. I have a private CA, and the new php 5.6 refused talking to my server over ssl until I added that CA to the list of trusted CAs on the server (see update-ca-certificates(8) on debian jessie) A tip to do that would fit right in under section "5.) problems with SSL ", something like: If php 5.6 or higher on the server is not aware of the CA used to create the ssl certificate used by davical, fsockopen() will return 0. Add your CA to the system-wide list of trusted certificate authorities. Now, talking to oneself over SSL might be redundant, but I would like to get a single config working, and that config should be SSL-only, not accepting plaintext from clients. As an aside I got the auth/index.php working, returning the correct credentials in the xml after a single successful login on the chromebook. The chromebook client still insists upon demanding a password on every refresh of the calendar even though the password and username are correct in auth/index.php :/ . Beats me.

New user -- getting Chrome OS to save password

Hi, all! New subscriber, new user of caldavzap. Thanks for a really useful and much needed piece of software ! The main reason I need the Ajax client is to get semi-liberated from Google on a Chromebook. The users are strictly non-tech, and not having to remember yet another password is /vItal/ for the acceptance of caldav (as opposed to google calendars) . So, .. Chrome OS refuses to remember password on the calendar :/. Pardon if this has been asked and answered here before. Tried googling "chrome password site:www.inf-it.com", but with no luck. My google-fu came up with this though, apparently pointing out a bug in Chrome browser, with work-arounds: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21191336/getting-chrome-to-prompt-to-sav… Scroll to the end to get the latest understanding of the bug. Anybody here with enough knowledge of Ajax to tell me how to implement this in CalDavZAP ? I'm running 0.11.1. I'm afraid most of that page is greek to me. OS X Mavericks carddavmate compatibility

Hi all, I subscribe this newsletter today to ask if anyone can help me to configure carddavmate with OS X Mavericks. I've read everything but I cannot make this work. I think the problem is in the patch. The patch do not work because it makes an error at line 20. But I've made the changes to the both files that was on the patch and I think those changes are correct :) But when I restart the services, the status of the addressbook and calendar do not start. It says STARTING in both but never passes to RUNNING. Can someone send me the files http_headers.py and server.py that works with Mavericks? Thanks Fábio Samji

iPad agenda question

(Strictly speaking not DAViCal related.) In the month view, when there are more appointments than can be shown, the iPad calendar shows something similar to app 1 app 2 app 3 5 more In other calendars (e.g. Business Calendar on Android) I can tap on the day, and it will temporarily expand to show all appointments. But the iPad calendar refuses to reveal them unless I switch to week view of day view. Am I overlooking something? -- Johan

Week view

A coupld of feature requests for CalDAVzap. I would like to be able to configure the week view to a different number of weeks. On my big screen I'like to have 4 or 5 weeks instead of 3. Also, I would like to be able to shift the week view one week at a time. E.g., when showing weeks 23,24,25, clicking on next (or some other button) will show 24,25,26 (instead of 26,27,28). Browsing a single calendar

Hi, Using CalDAVZap I browse through my calendars. Loading all calendars takes 20-30 seconds. While browsing, this happens every coupkle of months. Often I need to browse extensively (from today to 2 years in the future) through one small ( 2 appointments per month ) calendar only. Is there a way to speed this up? Deselecting the unwanted calendars in the 'Sources' does not help -- they seem to be loaded and formatted anyway, just not shown. Thanks, -- Johan

Caldavzap/mate auth using basic_auth

Hi! I'm using apache basic_auth on my webserver that runs Davical and caldavzap/mate. While caldavzap doesn't seem to be negatively affected by basic_auth, unfortunately it doesn't take advantage of it either. In theory it could skip the login screen and jump right into the calendar. Instead one has to enter his credentials again. "/auth/" shows that caldavzap correctly receives username/password from the webserver (even when not "logged in" in caldavzap). Is there a way to make caldavzap (and *mate) to skip the login-screen in such a setup? cheers Dariush

Past-due todos don't immediately show up

I'm using CalDavZAP 0.10.0.5 and right after upgrading from an older version I've noticed that an event that is long past due (last year) but still not completed (still "needing action") is not shown in the todo list - but after a short while (the first auto-reload I assume - about 2 minutes) it does show up without any intervention from me. I confirmed the issue by creating a brand new todo with a future due date (showed up immediately after logging in) which I then modified to have a due date in the past (started showing up with a delay after login, just like the other one). - Attila

Loading problem

Using CalDAVzap 0.10.0.4 Start Google Chrome with CalDAVzap - displays April in the month view. Click [ > ] - displays May in the month view. Click [ > ] - displays June in the month view. Click [ > ] - disables the window and shows a message "Reloading ..." At this point, it seems to be stuck. The javascript console reads: Uncaught ReferenceError: tzName is not defined interface.js:996 Any idea what I'm doing wrong? -- Johan

Status 500 error after update

Clever me accidentally reverted my Davical and awl libraries when I was trying to do security updates on my Ubuntu server. Took me a few days to figure out I had messed them up. Once I did, I did a git pull on both Davical and awl then ran database updates (not sure what version of Davical I was on before). Now I have two calendars from two different principals giving 500 status errors. Mozzilla Lightning shows a ! saying "calendar temporarily unavailable" and won't update or show any events. Caldavzap does not show errors and seems to work but the 500 status error shows up for it as well. I downloaded ics files, deleted the calendars, recreated with same names. Now Lightning works for newly created events only but still shows the error about unavailable. Calendarsync on android is having issues as well not showing events. -- Mark Bannister mark(a)injection-moldings.com

Another account has a number of subscribed calendars with a couple of todos. When I log in CalDavZap hangs after it received the attached response. Event without calendar

In one of my calendars I have entries that do not play according to the rules. In CalDAVzap, they are loaded as part of this calendar. They are shown as part of this calendar. They have the right colour, and appear/disappear when I check/uncheck the calendar in the sources list. When I edit them, they pretend not to be part of any calendar. There is no "Calendar" entry in the edit form. As a result, I cannot delete the entry. When I fetch the calendar .ics from the davical server, the entry looks perfectly normal to me: ... Message "completed at or after ..." doesn't displays in the correct language

Hi list, I found a small bug in tasks display : the message "completed at or after [date]" doesn't always displays in the correct language. Steps to reproduce : - Login to CalDavZAP with any language except English. - Go to the Tasks view. "Se termine à ou après le sam, 15 mar" is displayed (in French, for example) - Change day by clicking in the small calendar - "completed at or after sam, 1 mars" is now displayed, in English. Not very important, but still a bug IMO. :-) Bug is present in versions 0.10.0 and lastest (0.10.0.3). Regards, Julien

Android synching problem (again)

Setup: DAViCal server on NAS. CalDAVzap on linux client. Business Calendar Pro + CalDAVsynch on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 10.1. Business Calendar Pro + CalDAVsynch on Motorola Moto G. iPad with standard iPad calendar. The appointment is a repeating event, to repeat every two weeks. Starting tomorrow. Ending 2014-12-31. The appointment exists on all clients. It is displayed in weeks 10, 12, and so on. Using CalDAVzap I edit the first occurrence of the appointment and change all occurrences: change the starting date to one week later. It is now displayed in weeks 11, 13, and so on. The change is picked up correctly by the iPad. The Samsung now shows the (new?) appointment in weeks 11, 13, ... but still shows the (old?) appointment in weeks 10, 12, ... The Motorola doesn't show either appointment. Unfortunately I was just a little too late to intercept the log file. I'l try to be more quick if something like this happens again. -- Johan

caldavzap - auth basic doesn't work as expected while digest does

Hi, I observed something strange with caldavzap which I wasn't able to track down myself. If I use a baikal server with auth digest and have "var globalUseJqueryAuth=true" in config.js, everything works as expected and w/o errors. If I switch to basic auth with the very same server and have globalUseJqueryAuth undefined in config.js, the initial loading of the calendar data works as expected. But after globalSyncResourcesInterval I get errors like this: REPORT http://mysite/cal.php/calendars/username/default/ 403 (Forbidden) jquery-2.1.0.min.js:4 l.cors.a.crossDomain.send jquery-2.1.0.min.js:4 o.extend.ajax jquery-2.1.0.min.js:4 CalDAVnetLoadCollection webdav_protocol.js:2063 CalDAVnetLoadCollection.$.ajax.complete webdav_protocol.js:2337 j jquery-2.1.0.min.js:2 k.fireWith jquery-2.1.0.min.js:2 x jquery-2.1.0.min.js:4 (anonymous function) To be clear -- I don't get these errors with auth digest. Hello, does a simple possibility exists for placing an icon with a link to the DAViCal admin page in CalDavZAP? Maybe below of the logout button? I found an icon (images/banner_settings.svg) in the installation folder, which may be suited for this. But I assume this is dedicated for another purpose, maybe for the integration with CardDavMATE. With the actual version I can't discover, where and when it is used. But my Javascript and CSS knowledge is somewhat limited... Ingo

Hello, is there a bug tracker for CalDAVzap anywhere? For better readability I defined a minimum font size within Firefox. If using something greater than 14 pt a display error occurs when defining a new event. The event will be created with a time shift and it will last longer compared to the selected time range. For reproducing try: - define a minimum font size of 20 pt - create a new event by selecting 9:00 with the mouse and pulling it down to 11:00 -> the event will be created from 12:00 to 15:30. I observed this not only with Firefox but with Google Chrome too. Ingo

Hi, here's how to use caldavzap with the baikal server (or probably any sabredav based server). I'd recommend to include it somewhere as configuration example (e.g. caldavzap/misc/readme_baikal_sabredav.txt). I'll attach the following "readme_baikal_sabredav.txt" and the patch. PROBLEM: -------- caldavzap reads and saves session settings persistently in the caldav server by PROPPATCH / PROPFIND in a principal property '{http://inf-it.com/ns/dav/}settings'. Unfortunately, sabredav and sabredav based caldav servers... - do not provide access to new or non-standard properties - do not provide write access to principal properties with PROPPATCH SOLUTION: --------- An ideal and clean solution would be a sabredav plugin which allows creation and access to arbitrary new principal properties. Since such a plugin doesn't exist, I'll show here a hack which modifies baikal to just provide the specific principal property '{http://inf-it.com/ns/dav/}settings' which is needed by caldavzap. The following steps apply to baikal 0.2.7 but should be applicable to any sabredav based server. 1. modify your sql databse: add a text type database entry to the principals table which will hold the settings. This can be done by sql commands or by using a gui frontend for your database. I've named this text field 'inf_it_settings'. Example: the sqlite structure of the principals table should then look like this: CREATE TABLE 'principals' ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY ASC, uri TEXT, email TEXT, displayname TEXT, vcardurl TEXT, inf_it_settings TEXT, UNIQUE(uri) ) 2. apply the patch baikal-flat-0.2.7-for-caldavzap.diff to patch the baikal server. This patch does two things: a) it modifies vendor/sabre/dav/lib/Sabre/DAVACL/PrincipalBackend/PDO.php to map requests for the property '{http://inf-it.com/ns/dav/}settings' to the newly created database field inf_it_settings (see above 1.) b) it modifies vendor/sabre/dav/lib/Sabre/DAVACL/Principal.php to give write access to principal properties ('write' includes 'write-properties'). best -- Johannes

CalDAVZap with CalendarServer

Hello to everyone, I’m trying the CalDAVZap module with a CalendarServer installation (it’s version 4.2 but I made the modifications from the diff file manually). It works perfectly with it, I can see my calendars/events. But the default Apple Calendar/iCal application cannot list the person’s permitted delegations after that. It just says « Delegation is not supported by this server », when usually it lists the calendars I have read and/or write access to… When I remove the diffs from CalDAVZap, that functionality comes back, but I cannot use CalDAVZap :( Anybody can help with that? [CalDavZAP] some thoughts about the tasks interface

Hi, 1. I'd find it much more efficient, if the tasks would be shown in edit mode always. This way changes to a task could be typed in immediately w/o hitting an "edit" button first and the save button would just save and not return to a read-only view. 2. even more efficient would be an automated saving of the task changes so that you don't have to hit a save button any more. So as soon as anything is changed in a task it should be saved automatically to the caldav server. This way, the tasks interface woulnd't have save and revert buttons any more (with the obvious disadvantage that undo wouldn't be possible any more). a) what's the opinion of others about these suggestions? b) would it be hard to implement at least 1.? thanks and regards, -- Johannes

But I can't find any help. So I wanna ask you. (Android) Tasks widget update problem

I have a task that is due, and it is displayed by the task widget with a standing out (red) date. I want to postpone it, so using CalDAVzap I change the date to somewhen in the future. The modified task is correctly synched to Android, but the widget does not update. The screenshots show 1) the task widget on the home screen, and 2) the task data when clicked on the task widget. -- Johan

Problem synching (Android)

I'm running a DAViCal server with several clients (CalDAVzap, CalDAVSynch (Android) en iPad). Recently I needed to reschedule a number of appointments. I did this using CalDAVzap. The changes included things like replacing repeating appointments by non-repeating appointments, and the other way around. A short while after I completed the rescheduling the changes were synched to the iPads but the changes did not show on Android, despite several automatic and manual synchs. To be more precise, the removed entries were removed, but the replacement entries did not show up. As a last resort I removed the CalDAVSynch account (with all data) and re-established it. After the initial synch the Android calendar was okay. I'm aware that this kind of problems are very hard to find and solve. But is there anything I can do to help? -- Johan

I installed Baikal (flat) on my Synology Diskstation, and I can access it find with a URL like https://mynas:8443/baikal/card.php/addressbooks/USERNAME/default Both baikal and carddavmate are installed under /volume1/web as simple subdirectories..
