Hi,
Goal; 1) I need a generic calendar that people can view read only.
2) administration account that has the ability to create/edit the calendar events.
Progress; I created a calendar principal in DaviCAL and called it "MeetingRoom". Then I created a number of "Principal Collections" and named them after the managers. Set a password for the MeetingRoom principal and when logging in to caldavzap it works perfectly with just a couple restrictions.
1) couldn't work how how to disable write access for the MeetingRoom login. 2) How to give a separate "admin" principal account access to the resource. Any advice?
P.S: Sorry if this is a easy question, I just couldn't find a lot of doco on the DaviCAL website.

Hi Craig,
it is rather a question to DAViCal mailing list ... but ...
1.) you need to create a MeetingRoom principal + calendar collections for all your meeting rooms 2.) you need to set proper "MeetingRoom principal" default privileges ("Privileges granted to All Users") ... for example: allow read-only access 3.) you need to add your users to "Principal Grants" section (MeetingRoom principal) and allow write access to specified users
The result will be: all users have read access (principal default privileges) and selected users will have write access ("Principal Grants" section)
Then you need to configure your clients to use MeetingRoom principal URL + username/password (NOT MeetingRoom username/password - the real username/password of the user). In CalDavZAP you can use the "delegation" or "additionalResources" options (see config.js).
