Anyway, if you consider to include the category field in the list of
searchable items for future releases, you definitely will find me a
strong supporter!!

In previous versions there was a fixed list of fields we used for the
"search" functionality. The new version uses the
globalCollectionDisplay option, which defines the list of columns in
the interface, and this list is also used for the search
functionality.
So currently only data present in the interface (even if certain
columns are invisible, because the browser window is not wide enough)
is searchable. If more users will complain I will revert to the
previous functionality.
