404 error when using radicale and CalDavZAP together [SOLVED]

Hello everyone, If you're trying to use CalDavZAP on the (web) client side, and radicale on the server side, you might have encountered a 404 error on CalDavZAP web console. I've been stuck on this problem an entire evening and I finally found the error. Don't forget to enable CORS (cross-origin resource sharing : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-origin_resource_sharing ) on the radicale configuration so that CalDavZAP can access the radicale resources even if they are not available on the same domain. This is simply done by adding the following configuration at the end of the radicale configuration file : extract from /etc/radicale/config : [...] # Additional HTTP headers [headers] Access-Control-Allow-Origin = * Access-Control-Allow-Methods = GET, POST, OPTIONS, PROPFIND, PROPPATCH, REPORT, PUT, MOVE, DELETE, LOCK, UNLOCK, HEAD, MKCALENDAR, MKCOL Access-Control-Allow-Headers = User-Agent, Authorization, Content-type, Depth, If-match, If-None-Match, Lock-Token, Timeout, Destination, Overwrite, X-client, X-Requested-With Access-Control-Expose-Headers = Etag [...] You can also restrict "*" to a more resrtictive list of domains. CardDAVmate: vCard not conformant

Hi, After migrating DAViCal to another server, I keep getting a 'vCard is not conformant to RFC 2426' error on every entry in my addresses database. New entries initially appear correctly, but after a short while (30 secs?) the entry on the screen is replaced with the same non-conformant error message. Any ideas what can cause this? I copied (via SQL export / import) the database from the old server to the new server so the contents is the same. A difference in software versions (apache, php, davical, postgresql)? CalDAVzap is working fine in the same setup. -- Johan

CalDAVzap: Default calendar

I use CalDAVzap with a list of calendars. In my config.js, I have: var globalCalendarSelected='jv/default/'; So I expect this calendar to be selected by default. However, CalDAVzap still selects the first available calendar instead. This happens with FireFox and Chrome. Do I misunderstand the purpose of globalCalendarSelected? -- Johan

I have DAViCal and CalDAVzap installed on my workstation. Assume the hostname of the workstation is 'ws.mydomain.com'. I have a CNAME 'davical.mydomain.com'. The system is running Fedora 17, with apache 2.2.23. Normal installation problem

Hello, I'm using CalDavZAP for some time. I tried to install it to example.com/calendar but that didn't work so I just moved whole folder into example.com/davical and it worked. Problem with this setup is that I have to go to example.com/davical/calendar and that isn't looking that good, so I tried again configuring href value. Still, no success. I'm looking Apache error logs and this is why I can't log in: script '/home/user/www/caldav.php' not found or unable to stat, referer: https://example.com/calendar/ My document root is /home/user/www, but caldav.php is located in /home/user/www/davical/ directory. For some reason, url is rewritten, but I don't see why. htaccess for davical directory is empty and some other CalDAV web clients don't have this problem. Calendar Sharing?

Hi, Goal; 1) I need a generic calendar that people can view read only. 2) administration account that has the ability to create/edit the calendar events. Progress; I created a calendar principal in DaviCAL and called it "MeetingRoom". Then I created a number of "Principal Collections" and named them after the managers. Set a password for the MeetingRoom principal and when logging in to caldavzap it works perfectly with just a couple restrictions. 1) couldn't work how how to disable write access for the MeetingRoom login. 2) How to give a separate "admin" principal account access to the resource. Any advice? P.S: Sorry if this is a easy question, I just couldn't find a lot of doco on the DaviCAL website. cya Craig

Caldavzap 0.9.1.2 (I must have missed something?)

Hi Support, I've just extracted the Caldavzap 0.9.1.2 and are attempting to get it running on Apache, these are the errors I'm finding. note-1: caldavzap 0.7.0 has been working fine. note-2: I looked around for "jquery-ui-1.9.1.custom.min.js" and I don't see it in the downloaded zip anywhere, but it was in the old 0.7.0. Baikal server + caldavzap

Hello, I'm using Baikal as a caldav server successfully with thunderbird/lightning where the calendar address is set to http://my.server.com/cal.php/calendars/myname/default My problem is when I want to start using caldavzap. I cannot figure out, how to set values in config.js - when I try to login the login screen appears again. Can somebody point me, how I can debug login access with caldavzap? Maybe some logging in apache? I already tried http://my.server.com/cal.php/principals/ as a href in config.js with no success. Thanks in advance

Radicale Setup

Hi, I'm new to the list, so I apologize if the question has already been asked ( I couldn't find a searchable archive ). I'd like to setup Radicale (caldav server) with caldavzap. But, I'm having a hard time with the config.js values. Could someone point me to a working example? Radicale is running on {host}:5232. The Caldav connector URL I use for Tbird/Ligtning: http://{host}:5232/USER/calendar.ics/ I really appreciate the assistance. -- Tim H.

Address entity sorting problem in CardDAVMate

Hello, i have a strange "sorting" problem within entities of address records. In my address records, i love to have telephon numbers ordered like this: 1) Mobile number 2) Office number 3) Office fax number 4) Number of assistant ... and so on. In this order i enter all the entities. Either in the contact app (iOS and OSX) or in CardDAVMate. In the Apple apps this sorting is persistent. In CardDAVMate, the behaviour is a little bit strange. I enter the entities in the order i want, by changing the label of the entry appropriate. In the following example, i use the german names, as this may be the problem? 1) "Büro" 2) "Fax (Büro)" 3) "mobil" After saving the new or changed contact, the entities are saved in the order i specified. I can see this in the iOS ans OSX apps. But in CardDAVMate, the contact refreshes and reorders the entities ON THE SCREEN like this: 1) "mobil" 2) "Fax (Büro)" 3) "Büro" So well... In the iOS/OSX apps all is still ok. But now, when changing the contact again, whatever entry, and save the record, the order of the entities is changed to the order displayed on the screen (mobil, fax, ...)! In the iOS/OSX apps the order is changed too. This is annoying, because, if mobil is missing, the fax number is always on the first position. Is there any reason why the entities (labels?) are resorted? Again, like always, thanx a lot for the great work you do on this software. Regards, Rudolf

CalDavZap scheduling

Hello, Is allowing ATTENDEES on events/tasks on the roadmap? If the server supports the DAV:calendar-auto-schedule feature, the client really doesn't have to do anything other than a normal PUT of the resource because the server handles delivery of the scheduling request and subsequent replies. Hi Ján, I just looked at RFC 4791 and it certainly looks like this SHOULD be supported by all servers: If the Request-URI is a collection resource, then the DAV:href elements MUST refer to calendar object resources within that collection, and they MAY refer to calendar object resources at any depth within the collection. As a result, the "Depth" header MUST be ignored by the server and SHOULD NOT be sent by the client. Note that it states that the resource may be "at any depth within the collection". I just tested this on my server and I can fetch objects from 2 different calendars by using the calendar-home-set as the target resource of the request as in your example. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the existing servers already support such requests. I will have to do some testing on my server to see if I support it (I'm thinking that I do). I suppose I also need to look at the CalDAV spec to see if its allowed. The other alternative is to pipeline the requests, so rather than 2 or more roundtrips you just have 1. Hello, is there a possibility for saving the user settings regarding the visibility of calendars? We have some people which setup group calendars for public read access. After every login to CalDavZAP I have to unselect these calendars, because they are of no interest for me and therefore confusing. CalDavZap is configured with delegation=true. Ingo

Hi! Great piece of software!! I have started on a Swedish translation but i cant find any way to submit the "patch". I also have a suggestion, an export/ print function. Hi Ján, hi list First of all, thanks for your great job! And sorry for my poor english Today, we use Agendav (www.agendav.org) for our users. I follow your work since the first release. We need features before migrate from Agendav to CaldavZap in a near future. Maybe it's already in your roadmap? (if not, can you give us your point of view? I read that you work first on the performance issues) - Agendav allow users to share their own calendar(s) directly to other users present in the davical server database. We like this feature because the davical admin frontend is too complex for basic users. - Is-there a way to let the user to choose the color of his calendars. Usefull for groups: each member can select the color of his choice for the team calendar. This feature is not server-dependant (i know that the color can be transmitted to the caldav server but this is not what we want) - Permit users to include external calendars ( .ics ) directly via caldavzap web frontend. Actually it seems possible only via config files. - Permit users to create calendars (already discussed in caldavzap mailing list). I think that it's already in the roadmap. - Forced Refresh button without waiting. ( F5 disconnect the user) Regards; Adrien

principal name in ressources pane

Hello, in the resources pane the principal is displayed as fqdn_servername/principal With a long domain name this won't fit in the fixed width of the pane and is truncated. We use delegation=true and therefore more than one of these lines appear. It can be difficult to recognize to which principal the shown collections belong. I realized that this can be adjusted with the parameter "hrefLabel" in "globalNetworkCheckSettings". I would prefer that only the principal name is shown. But I didn't find a working setting which strips the server name completely or maybe only the domain part. Ingo

Error 404 in case of untrusted certificate

Hi list, I noticed a strange behavior of CalDavZap : CalDavZap is configured with cross-domain enabled. If the certificate of the Caldav server (i.e. DAViCal) is not trusted, CalDavZap fails to connect and raises a 404 error in the console : OPTIONS https://davical.mydomain.example/caldav.php/ [0ms] "Info: [globalNetworkCheckSettings: 'https://davical.mydomain.example/caldav.php/'] crossDomain set to: 'true'" "Error: [netCheckAndCreateConfiguration: 'https://davical.mydomain.example/caldav.php/'] code: '404'" Though I didn't try, the same behavior probably exists in CardDavZap. I think that announcing "404" doesn't really help about the actual issue which is not a non-existency but a certificate problem. What not consider modifying this error message? Regards, Julien

Hi, I'm running a davical + apache setup since years, and I recently installed caldavzap. Amongst my many virtualhosts, I added a specific one for caldavzap, and I'm struggling to make it work. (This one is called webcal.mydomain.net) I'm facing some serious issues to understand the documentation. In globalAccountSettings, I defined that : href: 'http://cal.mydomain.net/caldav.php/USERNAME1/' crossDomain: true [...] ref: 'http://cal.ecarnot.net/caldav.php/USERNAME1/', crossdomain: true, In globalNetworkCheckSettings, I defined that : href: 'http://cal.ecarnot.net/caldav.php/' crossDomain: true I also added the specific config about the mod_headers into the davical virtualhost settings. - What I get is the login screen appears. In apache log files, I see that : File does not exist: /home/websites/webcal/lib/jquery-2.0.3.min.map - Testing a wrong password correctly fails - Testing a correct password leads to a blank page. In the javascript console, I see that : Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'indexOf' of undefined main.js:398 I am really lost betweend the many things and places I should configure. Hello, I want to configure caldavzap to work with bedework. But according to the documents, caldavzap has not been tested with bedework. I'm using America/New_York on both servers. You might be on to something with the TZ parsing because if I edit the event through CalDAVZap to have the recurring event end on 30 July, I get an event displaying for 29 July, but not on the 30th. I think this takes the VEVENT data and author out of the mix. I can't easily give you an account on the production server. I can give you access to my home test server, but it works fine there. Hi Martin, looks like the same error as reported by Rudolf ... your XML response from server must be invalid - it is usually caused by unsupported character in the VEVENT definition (control character or something similar). You need to find a fix the problematic event and everything will work. I will report the problem to Andrew Mcmillan (DAViCal main developer). CalDavZAP does not show one of my calendars

Hello, I started using CalDavZAP a few days ago. It works fine with one of my calendars but does not show any events of my other calendar. There is an attention sign (exlamation mark) after the calendar name. I suppose there is at least one event that breaks the calendar parsing. Is there any way to debug? Kind regards, Martin

Hi Andrej, Hmm. It displays fine on my home test server, but not on our production server. Both servers are running 0.9.1rc2. Is there a later version? I tried with multiple browsers and still nothing displays on 29 July on our production server. I tried running cache_update.sh and flushing the browser cache as well. Any ideas?
